Marlene Targ Brill relates the story of Dolores Huerta’s journey from her beginnings in a Southwest mining community to the vineyards of California, traveling across the country working for the fair treatment of others. She cofounded what became the United Farm Workers of America and worked tirelessly advocating for the rights of farmworkers, Mexican American immigrants, women, and LGBTQ populations. In 2012, President Barack Obama gave her the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her relentless efforts that continue until today at age 96.
