« back to classes page
One extremely important aspect of our nation’s history is the development of improved transportation to move people and goods across this landscape. Expanding from routes using horses, muddy roads, and rivers with variable flows came canals, railroads, good roads, and the automobile. Geography professor Norman Moline tells the story of how its successes and challenges are particularly significant and fascinating in our state’s 208 years. These systems bound our state together and connected us with other regions.
