Mona’s Eyes follows a young girl’s journey through art and life, guided by her grandfather, as she confronts the possibility of permanent blindness. After a sudden, temporary loss of sight, her grandfather devises a plan: each week he takes her to Paris museums to study a single masterpiece, from Botticelli to Basquiat, before that beauty may vanish with her sight. The novel blends art history, aesthetic appreciation, and an exploration of family, memory, and resilience.
