Hy Speck, historian, will discuss and illustrate via video presentation the extraordinary talent of this legendary performer.
Sinatra is perhaps the greatest entertainer of the 20th century. In a career that spans six decades, he appeared in over 60 movies, winning two Academy Awards, recorded over 1,800 records, 80 albums, winning twelve Grammys, starred in his own radio and TV shows, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Freedom, the Kennedy Center Honors, and performed in every major theatrical venue in this country and overseas.
This narrated PowerPoint presentation traces his career from the streets of Hoboken, New Jersey to Hollywood and the showrooms of Las Vegas. It includes film clips of his most memorable stage and screen performances.
Following the speaker’s presentation, audience members are invited to stay on as there will be an abbreviated Men’s Club meeting to update the members as to what has been happening since our last formal “get together”.
